Film director Aftab Khan Tulu, famous for superstar Shakib Khan's first signed film in Dhallywood 'Sobai To Shukhi Hote Chay', died from Covid-19 infection. He was 66.
Tulu breathed his last at 11:30 am on Tuesday (July 28), at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Labaid Hospital in Dhaka. He was receiving treatment at the hospital since Friday.
The veteran filmmaker was a member of Bangladesh Film Directors Association.
Tulu made his debut as a director in Dhallywood through making 'Dayi Ke' in 1987. 'Duniya', 'Ful Ar Kata', 'Amar Jaan', 'Bhalobasa Bhalobasa' are a few of his notable works.
Filmmakers, producers and artists from various cultural bodies expressed deep shock at the death of Tulu.
