Sadek Bachchu on life support with Covid-19

Veteran Dhallywood actor Sadek Bachchu has been placed on life support at a city hospital Saturday after he fell seriously ill with coronavirus infection.

Actor Zayed Khan, general secretary at Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti, confirmed the news to The Business Post.

Sadek Bachchu has been placed on life support at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Universal Medical College Hospital in Mohakhali around 11pm, Zayed said.

Physicians said the actor is in a critical state as 80 per cent of his heart isn’t working.

Sadek Bachchu was earlier admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with respiratory-related problems on September 8. The result of his Covid-19 test came out positive on Tuesday.

His career in acting stretches over five decades in the theatre, radio, television, and cinema.
