Share transactions, prices see lift

The stock exchanges closed with a positive trend on Wednesday (September 16), like yesterday. The main indices of both the stock markets have risen on this day.

At the same time, the amount of transactions, share and unit prices of most companies have increased.

On Wednesday, the main index of the DSE, DSEX increased by 16 points, standing at 5,117 points. Among other indices of the DSE, Shariah index (DSES) decreased by 2 points and DSE-30 index increased by 3 points to finish at 1,169 and 1,764 points respectively.

Shares and units worth 1,147.25 crore taka were traded at the DSE on Wednesday and increased by 151.66 crore taka from 995.59 crore taka which was just a working day back. In total 356 issues were traded of which 185 gained, 120 declined while 51 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI went up by 60 points to 14,588 points on Wednesday. Shares and units worth of 35.18 crore taka were traded at the CSE.

Among the total 282 traded issues during the day, 144 gained, 90 declined and 48 remained unchanged.
