Nat’l committee suggests pre-booking Covid-19 vaccines through advance payment

National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19 has recommended booking Covid-19 vaccines through an advanced payment system.

The committee also advised the government to start conducting antigen testing, to keep Durga Puja celebrations on a limited scale following the guidelines and to institutionalise and finalize the vaccine deployment plan.

The recommendations came from the 19th online meeting of the committee held on Thursday.

Professor Dr Mohammad Sahidullah, president of the committee, chaired the meeting, read a press release.

The press release said booking Covid-19 vaccines through an advanced payment system is necessary as all countries are in a race to collect the vaccine.

To purchase vaccines, communication with multiple sources should continue instead of depending on one, it advised.
