Kazi Sanaul Hoq, managing director of the country's main stock market, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), has resigned in the tenth month of his 36-month tenure.
Reliable sources at the DSE confirmed the matter.
It is learned that he submitted his resignation letter on October 8 citing personal reasons. His resignation was was adopted at the DSE board meeting Wednesday (October 21).
He joined DSE as the managing director on February 9, 2020 for a 3-year tenure.
During his appointment, there were disagreements among DSE board members of over his appointment of as the MD of DSE.
But most of the independent directors, including the DSE Chairman, sided with Sanaul Hoq and on January 23 Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) approved his appointment as the MD of DSE.
Before joining the DSE, Kazi Sanaul Hoq was the MD of the state-owned investment corporation Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB).
