BAB provides 26 lakh blankets for PM’s relief fund

Thirty-five commercial banks under Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) at a function on Wednesday provided 25,95,000 pieces of blankets to the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund to help the poor during the upcoming winter.
 
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina virtually joined the function through a videoconference from her official residence Ganabhaban.
 
On behalf of the Prime Minister, Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus received the donations from top representatives of the banks at the Prime Minister's Office.
 
Among the banks, Islami Bank (Bd.) provided 200,000 pieces of blankets, while Dutch-Bangla Bank, Exim Bank, National Bank and United Commercial Bank donated 150,000 pieces each and First Security Islami Bank 125,000 pieces, and IFIC Bank and Prime Bank 100,000 pieces each.
 
Besides, Premier Bank, Al-Arafa Islami Bank, Bank Asia, City Bank, Dhaka Bank, Eastern Bank, Jamuna Bank, Mercantile Bank, NCC Bank, One Bank, Pubali Bank, Shahjalal Islami Bank, Social Islami Bank, Southeast Bank, Standard Bank and Uttara Bank provided 75,000 pieces of blanket each.
 
Moreover, AB Bank, Mutual Trust Bank and Trust Bank provided each 50,000 pieces, while Meghna Bank, Modhumoti Bank, NRB Bank, NRB Commercial Bank, NRB Global Bank, Padma Bank, SBAC Bank and Union Bank provided 15,000 pieces each.
