Rizvi hospitalised again

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has been admitted again to Labaid Hospital in Dhaka on Tuesday for cardiovascular treatment.

He will be treated under a medical board there, said Dr Monowarul Kadir Bitu, a cardiologist and a personal physician to Rizvi.

BNP’s assistant secretary for health affairs Dr Rafiqul Islam said Rizvi will be given treatment after conducting an MPI (myocardial perfusion imaging) test.

Rizvi suffered a heart attack after attending a human-chain of Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal in front of Jatiya Press Club on October 13. He was then rushed to Kakrail's Islami Bank Hospital first and later was admitted to Dhanmondi's Labaid Hospital.

Upon medical checkup on October 15, doctors of Labaid Hospital found a block in his heart and removed it by injection. Later, Rizvi was released from the hospital on October 28 as his health condition improved.
