CNG filling stations in the country are going to remain closed for four hours daily from September 19 to ease the pressure on gas-fired power plants connected to the national grid during peak hours.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at the energy ministry on Wednesday.
The ministry in a circular later said stations would remain closed from 6:00pm to 10:00pm from Sunday.
Earlier on September 13, the ministry announced that CNG filling stations across the country would remain closed from 5:00pm to 11:00pm every day.
Later, on the same day, the decision was scrapped and asked Petrobangla to discuss the issue with stakeholders, especially CNG station owners, to take the decision.
