Energypac Power Generation Limited on Saturday inaugurated an industrial park to enhance manufacturing and assembling of cars and production of generators.
The park, located on 52 bighas of land (three bighas = one acre) in Shreepur area of Gazipur, will be used for producing lights, circuit breakers, switch, sockets, fans, photo-electric generators, transformer, JAC commercial vehicle, excavators, forklifts, agro machineries etc.
It is also capable to test a load of up to 1.5 MW, and producing 500 generators of the GLAD brand through ensuring the foolproof health safety measures for all employees during the whole manufacturing procedure, said a press release.
Enerygypac also plans to build a world-class electric DB box that will be capable of testing a load of up to three MW and increase the capacity of the plant to produce 1000 GLAD generators.
According to the media release, the park has an assembling plant for cars, where 1200 vehicles can be assembled every year and Enerygypac hopes to increase the capacity to 1500 and build a bus assembling plant and electric vehicles.
The EPGL has taken a decision to manufacture pre-engineering low-cost houses, nut-bolts, wear machines, and profile sheets, and marketing those as well, which would contribute greatly to the infrastructural development of the country along with contributions in the power and transport sector, according to the release.
Industries minster Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun inaugurated the park as the chief guest while EPGL managing director and chief executive officer Humayun Rashid presided over the event.
Nurul Majid said, “I am pleased to know that Energypac has already established environment-friendly factory in Sreepur, maintaining the environmental and safety measures that is assisting the government to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.”
“It (Energypac) is a renowned organisation and has taken various initiatives in different sectors, including energy and transportation, to expedite the development of the economy,” he added.
Among others, Energypac Power Generation Limited’s chairman Rabiul Alam, director Enamul Haq Chowdhury, Nurul Aktar, Rezwanul Kabir, and independent director Mohammed Nurul Amin and Mikail Shipar participated in the programme.
