Gas supply from Titas well-14 begins

After workover completion of Titas Gas Field well number 14 – under Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Ltd (BGFCL) –gas supply to the national grid began from Saturday.

Energy and Mineral Resources Secretary Md Nurul Alam inaugurated the occasion, according to a press release. Around 12 million cubic feet gas will be supplied from the well number 14 to the national grid every day on experimental basis.

This workover began on March 19, and ended on May 21.

Petrobangla Chairman Zanendra Nath Sarker, Energy and Mineral Resources Division Additional Secretaries Md Humayun Kabir and Dr Md Rafiqul Islam, Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited (BAPEX) Managing Director Md Shoyeb, Sylhet Gas Fields Ltd Managing Director Md Mizanur Rahman and BGFCL Managing Director Engineer Md Fazlul Haque were present in the inaugural ceremony.
