Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission has increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas at consumer level in the country.
The newly fixed price will come into effect from August 1.
The price of 12kg LPG price cylinder has been increased to Tk 993.
It is now sold at Tk 891 — a Tk 102 increase.
The new price was announced by the energy sector regulator through an online press conference on Thursday.
The price was re-fixed due to rising prices in the world market, BERC said.
LPG supply companies had been urging BERC to increase LNG prices since last December. BERC's Technical Evaluation Committee evaluated the proposal and held a public hearing on the pricing of LPG on January 14.
