Momen urges Qatar to supply more LNG to Bangladesh

Bangladesh wants Qatar to increase its liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply to the country.

The request was made by Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen when the newly appointed ambassador of Qatar met him on Sunday, according to a media release.

Momen also requested Ambassador Seraya Ali Al-Qahtani to facilitate family visas for Bangladeshi expatriates in Qatar.

The ambassador expressed his commitment to further strengthen Qatar’s ties with Bangladesh.

He briefed Momen about the interest of the Qatar government in enhancing trade and investment with Bangladesh.

The ambassador praised the role of the Bangladesh government for its steady economic growth and continued socio-economic development.

The minister thanked the government of Qatar for hosting a large number of Bangladesh expatriates and for ensuring standard salaries and working environment.

He also informed the ambassador about investment opportunities in Bangladesh and expressed hope that during his tenure, trade and investment between Bangladesh and Qatar will expand, especially at Special Economic Zones.
