State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Sunday emphasised the importance of finding alternative and easily accessible power generation sources to ensure uninterrupted power supply for Bangladesh.
Stressing the necessity of independently solving problems and proper planning, he made the remarks at an event titled "Innovation Showcasing 2024", organised by the Power Division at the Bidyut Bhaban in Dhaka.
"We must solve our problems in our own way. It is desirable to undertake our planning and other activities with the vision of a developed Bangladesh by 2041," Nasrul said.
He highlighted the encouragement of new innovations, noting that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already addressing many issues.
Urging for increased AI usage to enhance customer satisfaction, he added, "The more we use technology, the more we will save money and time and ensure institutional success as well."
Power Division Senior Secretary Md Habibur Rahman opined that achieving the Smart Bangladesh 2041 goals requires developing indigenous technologies or creating local versions of existing technologies.
The "Innovation Showcasing 2024" featured notable innovations from various power companies. The event was conducted by the Power Division Joint Secretary Nirod Chandra Mondal. Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Md Humayun Kabir and Power Cell Director General Mohammad Hossain also spoke at the event.
