The Liberian flagship MV Sapodilla reached Mongla Port on Friday with the equipment of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) under construction in Pabna.

Confirming the information, Mongla Port Authority the ship had over 3,243 tonnes of machinery imported from Russia for the power plant.

Asim Saha, senior manager of Inter port Ship Agent Limited, the local shipping agent of the ship said that on July 16, the ship left the port of St. Petersburg, Russia. After anchoring at the port jetty at Friday noon, the workers started unloading the goods. Within four days these products will be fully redeemed and delivered to the authorities of RNPP by road.

On July 26, MV Sania reached Mongla port with 1,270 tonnes of machinery for the power plant. Earlier on July 11, MV Margaret and MV Liberty Harvest, on May 29 MV Anka Sky, on May 6, MV Anka Sun and on April 25 MV Yamal Orlan docked at the port delivering heavy pieces of machinery for RNPP imported from Russia.
