Musician Borno Chakroborty dies of Covid-19

Singer-music director Borno Chakroborty, who was infected with coronavirus, died at a hospital in the capital city on Saturday. He was 35.

He breathed his last around 10:41pm.

The news was confirmed by renowned singer Fahmida Nabi. Fahmida said that Borno was kept on life-support at the hospital for more than a week.

Borno was undergoing treatment since July 6 after he tested positive for the virus and later, his oxygen level dropped.

Apart from doing music, Borno Chakroborty created many music videos, dramas and advertisements since 2012. His first solo album ‘Boka Pakhi’ was released in April this year.

Condolences poured in on social media yesterday following the news of Borno’s death. Singers Association Bangladesh (SAB) President Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, Secretary General Kumar Bishwajit, Fahmida Nabi, Samina Chowdhury, Pantha Kanai, Elita Karim, Joy Shahriar and many others mourned the death of the talented musician.
