Dharmendra joins Ranveer-Alia in Karan Johar’s next

Actor Dharmendra is excited to be a part of Karan Johar’s upcoming movie, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. According to Hindustan Times, the film was announced earlier this week and stars Dharmendra with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.

Dharmendra, who was last seen in a leading role in ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se’ in 2018, is ecstatic about the new project, in which he also has senior co-stars like Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi for company. “Well, it’s a ‘romantic’ role,” says the actor, as he shies away emphasising on the ‘romantic’ bit, while revealing his excitement about the venture.

As he is set to work with a new breed of actors including Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra is looking forward to witnessing some young energy on the sets, too. “Ranveer looks so natural in all his films. Likewise, Alia is also brilliant with her work,” he says.

Bring up the topic of the kind of work he is doing at 85, and he says, “One shouldn’t think about age at all. I will keep working. I love the camera, and the camera loves me.’’

Karan Johar wrote on Twitter: “Presenting Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, headlined by none other than Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy.”

Karan will direct the film, which is scheduled to release in 2022.
