Simon’s ‘Neel Mukut’ on Chorki from Aug 8

Director Kamar Ahmad Simon’s docudrama ‘Neel Mukut’ is set to premiere on ‘Chorki’ on the day of his birthday, August 8, the streaming platform has announced.

Makers of ‘Neel Mukut’ have chosen to release the film digitally following a delay of more than one year due to the situation caused by coronavirus pandemic. The docudrama was initially scheduled to release on March 27 last year which was cancelled afterwards over Covid-19 risks.

Written and directed by Kamar Ahmad Simon, ‘Neel Mukut’ was mostly shot in Haiti.

Simon’s first feature creative non-fiction film ‘Shunte Ki Pao’ bagged many prizes including the National Film Award 2013 in Bangladesh, ‘Grand Prix’ from Cinema Du Reel in Paris in 2013 and ‘Golden Conch’ award at Mumbai International Film Festival in 2014.
