Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor is collaborating with director Ali Abbas Zafar for a yet-to-be titled thriller.
“The ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ director is working on a thriller that takes place over the course of a single night,” reports Bollywood Hungama.
The film will be produced under Ali’s Offside Entertainment, and it will be shot in Abu Dhabi. According to reports, it will be a Hindi remake of a foreign film. The details of the foreign film are yet to be disclosed.
Director Ali Abbas was supposed to begin work on ‘Super Soldier’, a superhero film starring Katrina Kaif, earlier this year. However, due to the Covid lockdown in India, the big-budget two-part action drama could not begin shooting on time. With ‘Super Soldier being’ postponed until 2022, the director has moved on to the new project with Shahid Kapoor.
Ali has been intending to adapt the film for Indian audiences for quite some time. Shahid, on the other hand, was searching for a film in a commercial setting that was distinct from the conventional storytelling, and Ali’s script fit is fit for that, reports Bollywood Hungama.
Shahid Kapoor’s next film will be ‘Jersey’, a remake of a Telugu film of the same name. The actor has also agreed to at least three more projects. He is said to be working on Amar Butala’s ‘Operation Cactus’ as well as Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s mythological epic ‘Karna’. He is also in discussions with director Sujay Ghosh about a fast-paced thriller and with Shashank Khaitan about an action thriller.
