Paying tribute to Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore on his 80th death anniversary, ‘Megh Boleche Jabo Jabo’—an immortal Tagore number rendered by renowned Rabindra Sangeet exponent Anima Roy—will be released on the YouTube on August 5.
For the song, Anima has teamed up with her husband, National Film Award-winning composer Tanvir Tareq, marking any first ever such collaboration of the couple.
Tanvir has rearranged the music for the new version of ‘Megh Boleche Jabo Jabo’ at his Studio Kolahol.
“It has become a very time-befitting creation connecting the vibes of the 22nd Srabon (Rabindranath’s death anniversary) and monsoon,” Anima Roy said.
“I told Tanvir to compose the track in his own style. He did it so beautifully. As a tribute to Rabindranath, the song is a special one to my audience,” she added.
Tanvir Tareq said that he did not listen to any other composition of ‘Megh Boleche Jabo Jabo’ to avoid any reference while working on this.
Instruments like guitar, piano, cello, loop, beet and tabla have been used in the music composition, he added. In the composition, Rajib Hossain and Sohel have played the guitar while Tanvir played all the other instruments.
Singer-composer Tanvir Tareq further said that he didn’t even work on any other project for two weeks to ensure the quality of the composition.
He hopes that listeners will get the touch of his care in the recreated version of the Tagore number.
Meanwhile, a music video for the song was shot in Punashcha Holiday Home in the ‘Golap Gram’ (Rose Village) in Birulia of Savar, on the outskirts of the capital. The video is directed by Rajesh Majumder.
Singer Anima Roy will appear in the music video, she confirmed The Business Post on Tuesday.
The music video will be released on the YouTube channel of Dhruba Music Station (DMS) on the eve of Tagore’s death anniversary at 6:00pm on August 5.
Tanvir Tareq bagged the award for Best Music Composer in the National Film Awards 2019 for the song ‘Amar Mayer Achol’ from the movie ‘Maya-The Lost Mother’.
On the other hand, Anima Roy has eight albums on Rabindra Sangeet to her credit.
