Remembering Nobel Laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore on his 80th death anniversary today, Bangladesh Television and different private TV channels of the country have planned an array of special programmes to mark the occasion.
BTV will air a single-episode special drama titled ‘Poyla Number’ after the 10:00pm news bulletin. Based on a short story of Rabindranath Tagore, ‘Poyla Number’ is directed by Faridur Rahman and produced by Mahfuza Aktar. The lead roles include Ramij Raju, Golam Kibria Tanvir, Sabrina Shofi Nisa and Hasnat Ripon.
Maasranga Television will telecast a special tele drama titled ‘Tapashwini’ at 10pm. Based on a short story of Tagore, ‘Tapashwini’ features Aparna Ghosh, Tutul Chowdhury and Abul Hayat in the lead roles. The drama is written and directed by Anjan Aich.
NTV will air a special drama titled ‘Pronoyini’ at 9:30pm. Based on the short story titled ‘Chitragoda’ by Tagore, the drama is written and directed by Golam Sohrab Dodul and stars Rounok Hasan, Tarin and Manoj Kumar Pramanik in the lead roles.
Starring Ilias Kanchan, Riaz, Purnima and Champa in the major roles, Channel i will telecast the film ‘Sesty’ at 3:05pm. The film is directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam.
Channel i will also telecast a special music show at 7:30am marking the day. Recitation show titled ‘Sraboner Purnima’ based on Tagore’s poems will also be aired on the channel at 7:40pm. Seasoned actor-elocutionist Asaduzzaman Noor will recite at the programme. Besides, Rezwana Choudhury Bannya will render Rabindra Sangeet in the same show. Moreover, planned, directed and presented by Shaikh Siraj, special programme titled ‘Shriniketone Rabindranath’ will be aired at 9:40pm on the same channel.
