Netflix releases ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 teaser

‘Stranger Things’ unveiled a new glimpse for its Season 4 on Friday, with the news that the new season is due next year, reports Variety.

A teaser for Season 4 was released in May, showing shaved-headed children in an institution. A voice, assumed to be Papa — Dr Martin Brenner, who raised test subjects including Eleven, enters and says “Today, I have something very special planned for you,” as the camera pivots to a room marked “11.”

The new teaser begins with little snippets from previous seasons. Fans finally get to watch the new footage after some additional flashback scenes. Millie’s Eleven is out of breath as few agents are holding her. She’s staring at something in surprise, and her hair is longer than audience have seen it before.

Meanwhile, David Harbour can also be seen welding a weapon with a bald look - similar to the fourth season’s first teaser. The dialogues somewhat hint at the fourth being the final season of the show, as Dustin says the upside-down is finally here. Glimpses of the parallel world also show a giant creature with tentacles attacking something.

When the show originally aired in 2016 in Netflix, it quickly became a global hit. The show, set in the 1980s, follows a group of friends in Hawkins, a fictional town. After a little kid goes missing, his family begins to encounter strange occurrences, while another girl with psychokinetic skills emerges in town.

The show has included four new recurring cast members recently. As per Variety, the Netflix series has cast Amybeth McNulty, Myles Truitt, Regina Ting Chen and Grace Van Dien. The new season is currently in production in Atlanta.

The series also features Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Cara Buono and Dacre Montgomery.

The new season will be released in 2022.
