Singer-anchor Alif Alauddin released a new version of the song ‘Tumi Chole Gecho’ paying tribute to her parents on the occasion of first death anniversary of her father, legendary composer-music director Alauddin Ali on Monday.

Alif collaborated with her husband, Artcell’s lead guitarist Kazi Faisal Ahmed in the recreated version of the song.

‘Tumi Chole Gecho’ was originally sung by Alif’s mother, singer Salma Sultana with lyrics and tune by Alauddin Ali. The song was performed by Salma on Bangladesh Television in 1983.

Kazi Faisal Ahmed has rearranged the music and also directed the video for the new version of the song.

Sharing the song on her social media handle, Alif Alauddin also penned a heartfelt note paying tributes to her parents on the death anniversary of Alauddin Ali. She said that she sang the song as a ‘daughter’s tribute’. Alif is also featured in the music video.

National Film Award-winning music director Alauddin Ali passed away on August 9, 2020, at the age of 67. He was suffering from cancer and lung complications.
