Shanarei Devi Shanu started her career in showbiz by winning the Lux-Channel i Superstar on the first season of the pageant in 2005 and she has built a successful career initially as a TV actress and model who later stepped into cinema. The actress is now all set to resume shooting for her TV serial ‘Pather Dharapate’ which was delayed after she was infected with Covid-19.
Talking to The Business Post on Monday, Shanu said that she has tested negative for coronavirus recently. “I will start the shooting of this serial in this month,” she confirmed.
‘Pother Dharapate’ is written by Azad Abul Kalam and produced by Mahfujar Rahman Ripon.
The serial began its shooting before Eid-ul-Azha in the capital’s Uttara. Afterwards, Shanu couldn’t take part in the shooting for some time after she tested positive for Covid-19.
Regarding the serial, Shanu said: “This is a complete family drama. The serial tells the story of two sisters. I am playing the character of one of them who is very ambitious and tries to give her best to her other siblings.’’
Shanarei Devi Shanu kicked off her career on the silver-screen in 2018 with the film ‘Mr Bangladesh’ directed by Abu Akhter Ul Iman. Meanwhile, the first episode of the new reality show ‘Ananya Pratibha’ has already completed on NTV, where Shanu played her role as one of the judges at the audition.
Besides, Shanu also proved her worth as a writer. She published two novels-- ‘Amar Ekta Tui Chai’ and ‘Iti Meghbalok’ in Ekushey Book Fair last year. She made her debut in writing with the novel ‘Ekla Akash’. Her second novel is named ‘Lipstick’, for which she was awarded the ‘Samaresh Bose Literary Award’ from Kolkata.
