Tareen stars in ‘Rokto Makha Shiri’ commemorating August 15

Popular actress Tareen Jahan will appear in a musical documentary-film titled ‘Rokto Makha Shiri’ commemorating the National Mourning Day on August 15.

The film, directed by Sohail Rana and produced by songwriter Sujan Hajong, is based on Nishita Barua’s song of the same title, reads a press release.

Tareen participated in the shooting of the film on Tuesday which took place in Dhanmondi 32, Swadhinata Museum, Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University, Shikha Chirantan at Suhrawardy Udyan and several other locations in the capital city.

The musical documentary is scripted and directed by Sohail Rana Bayati and filmed by Kamal Chandra Das.

Tareen described Bangabandhu’s significance and how his teachings impacted the conscience of future generations of Bangladesh by saying, “Bangabandhu’s life and teaching works as a guiding force for every Bangalee.”

She added, “I have tried to present Bangabandhu’s morale to the new generation in this film.”

Producer Sujan Hajong said, “Tareen is a talented actress. She seems like the perfect choice to showcase the memories of Bangabandhu to the new generation. I hope she will be able to present Dhanmondi 32 and Bangabandhu Memorial Museum as a beacon of hope to the new generation.”

The film ‘Rokto Makha Shiri’ will be released on YouTube on August 15.
