Bangladeshi animated film ‘Tomorrow’ has received invitations from over a total of 280 film festivals, mostly the independent and virtual ones, in a span of 10 days in August.
Mohammad Shihab Uddin, director of the film, confirmed the matter to The Business Post on Thursday.
Produced by Deepto TV, ‘Tomorrow’ was made with an aim to explain the climate change crisis to children. Its script was co-written by Nasimul Hasan and Ahmed Khan Hirok. The film was earlier officially selected for five various film festivals.
In the story, a young boy named Ratul is magically shown two very different visions of the future. In the first scenario, Bangladesh has been inundated by rising sea levels, causing great suffering; in the second scenario, fossil fuels have been replaced by renewable energy, and Bangladesh is prosperous.
Cycore Studios provided the animation and production services for the film.
The film was earlier officially selected for five film festivals-- Northeast Film Festival, Andromeda Film Festival, Golden Harvest Film Festival, American Golden Picture International Film Festival and Silk Road Film Awards Cannes, director Shihab said.
‘Tomorrow’ will take part in different festivals to reach the audiences of other languages around the world, he added.
The film was earlier aired on Deepto TV in 2019.
