Singer Sania Sultana Liza has recreated Sadi Mohammad’s iconic song ‘Sedin Akashe Sraboner Megh’ paying tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his 46th martyrdom anniversary.

The song was released on Liza’s YouTube channel on the National Mourning Day Sunday.

‘Sedin Akashe Sraboner Megh’ was originally sung by renowned Rabindra Sangeet singer Sadi Mohammad with its lyrics penned by Prof Dr Abu Sayeed. Its tune and music were also done by Sadi himself.

The reprised version is sung by Liza with its music rearranged by Adib Kabir. Liza also appears in the music video directed by Raj Biswas Sankor.

“I used to sing the song ‘Sedin Akashe Sraboner Megh’ along with the patriotic songs during my childhood. The idea of recreating the song came to my mind when I took part in TV programmes commemorating the memories of Bangabandhu on various occasions,” Liza shared with The Business Post on Sunday.

“In the new version, I have wanted to give special focus on the voice and lyrics; the composition and the video were made accordingly. I think the song will help the new generation to feel about Bangabandhu,” she said.

She further said that singer-composer Zooel Morshed helped her to arrange the whole project.

Liza informed that she is expecting to release a unique song dedicating Bangabandhu during the upcoming Victory Day. The song is already recorded with the lyrics written by Nurul Islam Manik, tune by Anwar Hossain Anu and music by Suman Kalyan.

Currently, Liza is waiting to shoot music videos for some of her new songs which is delayed by the pandemic.

“Everything has been reopened following the withdrawal of lockdown, but I am still afraid of the virus. I will be waiting to shoot music videos until the existing pandemic situation gets better,” she said.

Several new songs of Liza remain unreleased in which she collaborated with the musicians like Shawkat Ali Emon, Naquib Khan and Nazir Mahmud.
