Shakib Khan likely to star in govt-funded film ‘Galui’

Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan is expected to star in government-financed film ‘Galui’, marking his first-ever collaboration in such a project.

“We are in the discussions. He (Shakib Khan) is likely to be roped in for ‘Galui’. But he has not been officially signed yet.

We will announce the cast of the film very soon, in a high-profile ceremony in presence of hounourable Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud,” Olike told The Business Post on Monday.

“We are scheduled to kick-off the shooting in mid-September,” he said.

There are speculations that actors Azizul Hakim and Fazlur Rahman Babu would be seen in two pivotal roles in ‘Galui’. The film will be produced by Khorshed Alam Khosru.

Along with ‘Galui’, a total of 20 films, were selected for grants from the government for the fiscal year 2020-21.

Earlier, in 2015, Shakib Khan and Pori Moni acted in SA Haque Olike’s romantic film ‘Aro Bhalobasbo Tomay’.

On the workfront, Shakib Khan and Shabnam Bubly resumed shooting the last schedule of Topu Khan-directed film ‘Leader: Amii Bangladesh on August 11.
