Dhallywood actor Nirab Hossain is sharing the screen with his longtime friend and actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila in the upcoming Anonno Mamun directorial ‘Omanush’.

Ninety-five per cent shooting of the film was completed earlier and the remaining parts were delayed in the context of the nationwide Covid-19 lockdown which was relaxed from August 11.

On Wednesday, Nirab and actress Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed wrapped up the last schedule of the film near Narayanganj. “Two important scenes and some parts of a song were filmed on the last day,” Nirab told The Business Post.

“Meanwhile, I have started dubbing for the film from Tuesday. It will continue for 15-20 days,” he added.

Apart from Nirab Hossain and Rafiath Rashid Mithila, ‘Omanush’ also features Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, Misha Sawdagor, Shahiduzzaman Selim and Rashed Opu.

The film marks Nirab and Anonno Mamun’s second straight collaboration after ‘Koshai’ and Mithila’s debut in Dhallywood film industry.

‘Omanush’ was kicked off in April this year in Birulia area of Savar. Later, it was shot in various locations of Bandarban, Rajendrapur, Sreemangal and Narayanganj. Nirab will be seen playing the role of a robber while Mithila a Bangladeshi woman who returned from a foreign country and later falls victim to robbers while making a documentary.

In May, director Mamun revealed the first look of Nirab and Mithila in the film which was appreciated by fans.

‘Omanush’ will be released in theatres at first. Later, it will go for an OTT release. The release date will be announced soon, said Anonno Mamun.

“We are very excited about the film. Expectation is high as well. We had to shoot the film in remote areas deep inside forests,” Nirab said Tuesday.

“Mithila and I have been good friends in real life for about 15 years now. We did two TV commercials together many years ago and finally we made it to ‘Omanush’,” Nirab earlier told The Business Post.

The actor teamed up with Anonno Mamun for the first time with the film ‘Koshai’ which was released on streaming platform iTheatre during this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr marking Nirab’s debut on OTT.

Currently, the actor is also awaiting release of ‘Casino’, ‘Chokh’, ‘Phire Dekha’ and ‘Chaya Brikkho’ which are delayed by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. In Saikat Nasir-directed ‘Casino’ and Asif Iqbal Jewel’s ‘Chokh’, Nirab acted opposing actress Shabnam Bubly. ‘Phire Dekha’ is a government grants winning film directed by actress Rozina where Nirab collaborated with Orchita Sporshia.
