Star Cineplex, the most popular movie theatre chain in the country, has once again reopened its doors for the moviegoers after a long hiatus due to the ongoing corona virus pandemic. Resumed its all types of operations on August 20, the multiplex theatre has begun regular movie screening in all branches located in the capital.
Currently, three Hollywood blockbuster films titled ‘Fast and Furious 9’, ‘The Suicide Squad’ and ‘Jungle Cruise’ are being screened in all branches of Star Cineplex, including the newly-launched Mirpur branch. All three films have received a huge response from the audience, reads a press release.
Mahboob Rahman Ruhel, chairman of Star Cineplex, said, “Star Cineplex has regained its life in the presence of the audience. The movie lovers have started coming to the halls again as they were eagerly waiting to watch the films on the big screen. The demand for tickets is increasing in all our branches. Many more films are awaiting release in the coming days.”
“The films are being screened in compliance with all types of health regulations as per government guidelines,” he also added.
F9, the latest Fast and Furious film, reintroduces Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto as he confronts his long-lost brother Jakob (John Cena). Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, John Cena, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, and Charlize Theron all-star in this film, which is directed by franchise veteran Justin Lin.’
In the first week of release, the film brought home 60 million US dollars. This is the most commercially successful film released since the outbreak of Covid-19. Its revenue worldwide, including the United Kingdom, stood at 61 million. According to Variety, Fast and Furious Nine has grossed 203 million in China alone.
The sequel to the 2016 superhit film ‘Suicide Squad’ is ‘The Suicide Squad’. This year’s film has undergone big changes in screenplay, cast, and production. ‘The Suicide Squad’ is directed by James Gunn. The four characters who played in the previous sequel are returning to the suicidal and dangerous mission of Task Force X, which is a group of all the special and terrifying killers.
Disney’s Jungle Cruise has been a huge success for the studio and its stars, Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson. Though the plot of the film initially appeared to be simple, as Lily Houghton and Frank Wolff hunted for the Tears of the Moon Tree and faced the threat of outside powers, it rapidly became more complicated and intriguing.
