Special TV programmes to mark Nazrul’s death anniversary

Today marks the 45th death anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Paying tribute to the rebel poet on the occasion, different TV channels will air special programmes featuring tele-drama, musical show, dance show, talk show and many more.

A special drama titled ‘Alta Ranga’ will be aired on BTV at 9pm tonight. The drama stars Evon, Labonnya, Romij Raju, Motahar and Rina Rahman in the lead roles. Directed by Al Mansur and produced by Mahfuza Aktar, ‘Alta Ranga’ is adapted from Kazi Nazrul’s poetry titled ‘Alta Smriti’.

Channel i has chalked out an elaborated programme which includes special film, musical show and a special drama to pay tribute to Nazrul. A special programme titled ‘Shorashori Nazrul’, produced by Amirul Islam, will be aired at 11:30am today. A musical show titled ‘Dola Lagilo Dokhinar Bone’, featuring performance by eminent Nazrul exponent Ferdous Ara and others, will be aired at 8:30pm.

Director Gitali Hasan’s film ‘Priya Tumi Shukhi Hou’ will be aired on the same channel at 3:05pm. Starring Sohel Rana, Suchorita, Ferdous Ahmed and Shaila Sabi in the major roles, the film is based on Nazrul’s novel titled ‘Otripto Atma’ and produced by Impress Telefilm.

Besides, a drama titled ‘Tumi Arekta Din Thako’ will be aired at 9:25pm tonight on Channel i. written and directed by Vicky Zahed, Safa Kabir and Khairul Bashar are in the lead roles.

Maasranga Television will air a special drama ‘Kalo Harin Chokh’ at 10:00pm. Based on Kazi Nazrul’s story ‘Badal Borishone’, the drama is scripted by Vishnu Yash and directed by Simanto Sajal. Rawnak Hasan, Moushumi Hamid and Jayraj will appear in the lead roles.

The story revolves around the youngest son of a local landlord named Rudra who comes to village after a long time. He falls in love with a village girl named Kajori after being fascinated by her beautiful black eyes. But, Kajori stays away from Rudra because of their different social status. The story continues.

NTV will air a special musical show titled ‘Antore Tumi Acho Chirodin’ at 6:15am. Renowned Nazrul singers Lina Taposhi Khan, Khairul Anam Shakil, Ferdous Ara, Yeakub Ali Khan and Yasmin Mushtari will render songs in the show. At 6:55 am, late noted actor Aly Zaker, Pijush Bandyopadhyay, Shimul Mustapha, Chitralekha Guha will be seen reading the letters of Nazrul in a special programme titled ‘Nazruler Chithi’ on the same channel.

On the occasion of Nazrul’s 45th death anniversary, a special drama ‘Gobhir Nishithe’ will be aired on NTV at 9.30 pm. The drama is written by Pantha Shahriar and directed by Nayeem Imtiaz Neyamul based on Nazrul’s songs. Azmeri Haque Badhon, Intekhab Dinar, Kazi Ujjal, Mahmudul Islam Mithu are featured in ‘Govir Nishithe’.

NTV will also telecast a drama titled ‘Dhumketu’ directed by Tuhin Hossain tomorrow at 9:30pm. Inspired by Kazi Nazrul Islam’s popular song ‘Amay Nohe Go, Bhalobaso Mor Gaan’, the drama is written by Sarwar Reza Jimmy and stars Afran Nisho, Tanveen Sweety, Nisha, Dilara Zaman and AK Azad Setu in the lead roles.

Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam died on 12 Bhadra of Bangla calendar year in 1383 (August 29, 1976) at the age of 77. He was buried beside the Dhaka University Central Mosque.
