After a hiatus of five months, the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) opened its door again for regular activities. Alongside opening all the auditoriums for staging plays on Wednesday, the rehearsal room of the venue has also been opened on the same day. Hasan Mahmud, public relation officer of the BSA, informed about the opening of the country’s premier venue for theatre.
“As the coronavirus situation has improved, all the auditoriums of the National Theatre Hall have been opened for regular activities according to the government directives. As per the demand of the theatre troupes, the auditoriums, rehearsal rooms and seminar rooms will be allotted. I hope applications from the theatre troupes will be submitted soon,” Hasan Mahmud said.
“Theatre artistes and workers are happy and excited with the announcement of the opening of the National Theatre Hall. A policy for the use of auditoriums and staging plays has been formulated according to the government’s health protocol for the coronavirus,” Hasan added.
