‘Piano Lounge’ begins with singer Tahsan’s performance

Channel i started airing ‘Piano Lounge’ with the performance of singer-songwriter Tahsan Khan in the first episode of the brand-new musical show on Thursday night.

Initially, the show will have 10 episodes featuring the performances by a total of ten singers— noted Rabindra Sangeet exponent Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, leading Nazrul Sangeet exponent Ferdous Ara, Fahmida Nabi, Shafin Ahmed, Bappa Mazumder, Baul Shafi Mondol, Rabindra Sangeet singer Anima Roy, Tahsan Khan, Tanvir Alam Sajeeb and Pintu Ghosh.

A total of four songs by each of the singers will be performed in each of the episodes. 

Noted musician Manam Ahmed has arranged music for the songs.

The programme is produced by Channel i while Hatil is the title sponsor of it. The video of the show is directed by Himel.

 Izaz Khan Swapon, executive producer of Piano Lounge, said, “Each of the songs will be presented in a distinguished style with the music arranged by Manam Ahmed.”

“In this programme, he (Manam) used his experience gained from his long music career to present something new to the audience. Piano is used for the music arrangement of all the songs--Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet , folk and classic songs--in the show,” Swapon added.

“In every episode, the audience will rediscover the songs of their favourite singers,” he said adding that the ‘Piano Lounge’ will be a very different experience for the performers as well.

‘Piano Lounge’ will be aired on Channel i at 8:30pm every Thursday.
