Bollywood actress Tabu and filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj make a hit pair always. The team has already collaborated on blockbusters like as ‘Maqbool’ and ‘Haider,’ and a third feature appears to be in the works. According to Bollywood Hungama, Vishal Bharadwaj has cast Tabu in his next directorial project titled ‘Khufia’.
This project is an action entertainment, and Tabu apparently signed on as soon as she heard about it.
The film is an adaption of the book ‘Escape to Nowhere’ by Amar Bhushan. It is a story about Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India’s external intelligence agency, and how a joint secretary, disappears despite being under 24-hour surveillance. It also features Wamiqa Gabi. and Ashish Vidyarthi. The filmmaker has already begun the recce and one of the locations which has been finalized is Mussoorie.
It was earlier reported that Ali Fazal will play the leading man in the film. This is the first time he will be working with the filmmaker and both of them are really excited about this collaboration. While most things about the film are still kept under wraps, the casting for the rest of the characters is still underway.
Vishal Bharadwaj also approached two Bangladeshi actress Bidya Sinha Mim and Mehazabien Chowdhury for the casting. Though both actors has refused the offer.
Vishal Bhardwaj last directed ‘Pataakha’ in 2018 with Radhika Madan, Sanya Malhotra, and Sunil Grover in the lead roles. Meanwhile, Tabu is busy with the shoot of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.’
