BTV to air special programmes on PM’s birthday

Celebrating the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today, Bangladesh Television (BTV) has chalked out an array of colourful programmes that will be aired throughout the entire day. The special programmes include documentaries, talk shows, musical shows, children’s shows, dance and recitation programme, among others, BTV Director (Programme and Planning) Jagdish Esh informed.

BTV will air a special documentary titled ‘Koti Praner Bhalobasay Sheikh Hasina’, which has been made with the participation of the people from grassroots level.

Highlighting Sheikh Hasina’s immense contribution to the country’s overwhelming development, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Md Murad Hasan and State Minister for Planning Dr Shamsul Alam and former Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique will discuss at a programme titled ‘Unnayaner Agrajatray Sheikh Hasina’.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Awami League presidium member Matia Chowdhury, veteran politicians Amir Hossain Amu and Mrinal Kanti Das will participate in a talk show titled ‘Ganatantrer Obhijatray Sheikh Hasina’.

Anchored by popular film actor Ferdous Ahmed, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, former national team captain and member of parliament Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, actress Tareen Jahan and writer and journalist Sheikh Sadi will take part in a special talk show titled ‘Tarunyer Chokhe Sheikh Hasina’.

A special musical show will be aired featuring the performance of singers Ankhi Alamgir, Dinat Jahan Munni, Konal, Rajib, Priyanka Gope, Champa Banik, Swaralipi, Shan Saik, Rehaan Rasul, Tahsin Reza, Apu Azam, Mehrab, Gamcha Palash and Bindu Kona. The show is anchored by Tanven Sweety.

‘Sheikh Hasina Bangladesher Swapna Sarathi’, a talk show highlighting women’s empowerment and Sheikh Hasina’s role in the remarkable progress of Bangladesh, is scheduled to be aired on the state-run television channel. The show will be participated by Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, member of parliament Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and eminent Tagore singer Rezwana Choudhury Bannya. The show will be anchored by Shabnam Azim.

Besides, a special programme titled ‘Deshratna Sheikh Hasina’ will also be aired on BTV. The programme features dance, drama, song, recitation and more.

Written by eminent lyricist Kabir Bakul, two special songs titled ‘Ei Meye Sei Meye’ and ‘52 Amar Ma ebong 71 Amar Baba’ will be aired as part of celebration.

Noted actor-elocutionist Asaduzzaman Noor will recite at a programme to mark the birthday of Sheikh Hasina. Dance artiste Tamanna Rahman and her troupe will perform dance with the recitation of Nima Rahman. A group of children will also render two songs titled ‘Alo Amar Alo’ and ‘Edin Aji Kon Ghorego Khule Dilo’.

Moreover, BTV will air few other special programmes, including the documentary ‘Sheikh Hasina: Ek Klantihin Nabik’.
