ZEE5 Global, the world’s largest OTT platform for South Asian content, has announced the launch of two exclusive Bangla dramas. The first of two productions, ‘The Broker’ with much-acclaimed actor Mosharraf Karim and popular television actor Nazia Haque Orsha in the lead roles will be launched on October 1.
The OTT platform has also dropped the trailer for the original drama recently.
The drama serial tells the story about a broker whose life is turned upside down when his daughter is diagnosed with rare heart disease. ‘The Broker’ brings out the ethical dilemma we sometimes face in dire situations and the consequences of the choices we make.
Mosharraf Karim said about the drama, “I generally don’t comment on my work as I think that my work will speak for itself, but I saw the trailer of ‘The Broker’, and I’m really happy with the way this has come out. It is a gripping story about the choices one is forced to make and the consequences, and I’m sure it will be loved by viewers in Bangladesh and across the world.”
Nazia Haque Orsha said, “I loved the story of ‘The Broker’ and am very happy to have been a part of it. This is my first project with ZEE5, and I’m very excited that Bangladeshi audiences not only here, but in other countries also will get to watch this beautiful story.”
Archana Anand, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 Global, said, “We are lining up a fresh new slate of local content for Bangladesh. ‘The Broker’ with a stellar cast is the very first exclusive drama to be launched as part of this new slate. Our Bangla Originals, including ‘Mainkar Chipay’, ‘Jodi Kintu Tobua’ and ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ have all seen a massive response in Bangladesh, and we are sure this will get an equally strong response in Bangladesh and across the globe.”
ZEE5 Global’s another drama, ‘Herey Jabar Golpo’-- starring Shamol Mowla, Maria Noor and Saberi Alam--will also be released in October. It’s a story about loss and the value of life.
In addition to strengthening ZEE5’s local content focus, these two exclusive dramas will also give a global platform to local production houses and talent in Bangladesh.
