Kaushik Hossain Taposh, Gaan Bangla’s managing director, has earned the International Ratna Award in India for his contributions to Bengali music.

He was honoured with the award at the International Ratna Award ceremony held at Howrah Sarat Sadan in West Bengal on October 2.

Taposh shared the news on Facebook with a caption “Thanks to International Ratna Award committee for giving me such honour yesterday at Howrah, West Bengal, India.”

“I would like to thank the organisers for giving me this inspiring honour. Any honour makes me responsible for doing something better in the future and making the country proud,” he added.

Earlier in April, Taposh won the Dana Samman ‘Gorber Bangali Award 2021’ in recognition to his contribution as a music director.

Kaushik Hossain Taposh had earlier won the prestigious ‘Dada Saheb Phalke Excellence Award’ in 2016 and ‘Mother Teresa International Award’ for his special contribution to Bangla music. He also received the National Film Award in 2013 as a composer.
