Star Cineplex announces another branch in Cumilla

Movie theatre chain Star Cineplex announced on Sunday that they are going to open a new branch of the popular multiplex in Cumilla very soon.

The announcement came from a signing ceremony between Star Cineplex and Bangladesh Police Kallyan Trust to build Cineplex’s 5th branch in Bogura.

“Bangladesh Police Kallyan Trust is interested in launching another branch of the Cineplex in Cumilla too. If everything goes well, we will be launching another Star Cineplex in Cumilla and other districts very soon,” Mesbah Uddin, Manager (Media and Marketing) at Star Cineplex said at the signing ceremony.

The signing ceremony was held at the Padma Hall of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Sunday. Mahbub Rahman Ruhel, Chairman of Star Cineplex and Ferdous Ali Chowdhury, AIG (Welfare Trust), Bangladesh Police signed the agreement, reads a press release.

Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan, DIG of Police Headquarters, Shoeb Reaz Alam, Additional DIG, Alamgir Kabir, AIG, and other officials of both the organisations were present at the signing ceremony.

Star Cineplex Chairman Ruhel said that the cineplex in Bogura is planned to be launched in the middle of next year.

“There will be two halls here. The total number of seats will be 425. The halls will be built with aesthetic environment, world-class sound system, giant screen and all the facilities of a world-class cinema hall,” he added.

Star Cineplex began its journey on October 6, 2004, at Bashundhara City Shopping Complex in the capital’s Panthapath.

Currently, it has three branches at the SKS Tower in Mohakhali, Shimanto Shomvar in Dhanmondi and the newly launched Sony Square in Mirpur.
