Emon-Mamo’s ‘Agamikal’ coming in December

Popular actors Mamnun Emon and Zakia Bari starring romantic-thriller ‘Agamikal’ is set to release theatrically countrywide on December 10.

The film is written and directed by Anjan Aich.

The lead actor of this film, Emon confirmed the news to The Business Post Thursday.

Emon said, “This is my first film with director Anjan Aich. I have done two more films with him after ‘Agamikal’. It feels great that he thought of me as his lead actor in his first film. My co-artiste Mamo is a good friend of mine. The storyline of this film is unique too. As a whole, I enjoyed working in the film.”

The film is a love triangle story with a mixture of thriller. In the film, Emon plays the character of a medical student who is in love with Mamo. Mamo plays the character of an orphan girl.

Regarding the plot of the story, Anjan Aich told The Business Post, “This film is basically an action-thriller with combination of triangle love.”

Actor Emon said, “In this film, I played the character of a medical student. I fell in love with Mamo. On the other side, another actor Suchana falls in love with me. You can say that this is a triangle love story. There is also a twist which I can’t reveal at this moment.”

“I hope that the audience will love the film and watch it in theatre. Our industry is going through a change at this time. So, a good film and unique story is very much needed now. Our directors are coming up with unique storyline. So, I think the film ‘Agamikal’ will live up to the expectation of the audience,” Emon further added.

The shooting of ‘Agamikal’ started in 2019. The filming was completed in 2021. But due to the pandemic situation, it was not possible to release the film for so long, said Aich.

Regarding the promotional activities before the release, Anjan Aich said, “We have plans to run our promotional campaign in the universities too. We have already contacted with the film distributors in America and Canada to show ‘Agamikal’ and got a positive response. So, I have plans to release the film in America and Canada in March.”

There are four songs in the film. Singers Konal and Sujan Arif have lent their voice in the film with the music by Sujan Arif and late Prithviraj. Three songs of this film are penned by the director Anjan Aich.

Apart from Mamo and Emon, the film has an ensemble cast of Shatabdi Wadud, Suchana Azad, Ashish Khandaker, Saberi Alam, Tariq Swapan and Tutul Chowdhury, among others.

Meanwhile, makers of ‘Agamikal’ released a first-look poster of the film.

In 2008, Mamo costarred with Emon in Tauquir Ahmed directed film ‘Daruchini Dwip’. Afterwards, they teamed up in several TV projects. ‘
