Director Shihab Shaheen is preparing for starting his third web series ‘Syndicate’ from December this year.
The crime-thriller is expected to star popular actors Afran Nisho and Tasnia Farin and to be released on over-the-top platform Chorki.
Confirming the news to The Business Post on Sunday, Shihab Shaheen said, “I have discussed with Nisho and Farin about the project. We have a plan to go for shooting the web series from December. It will be released early next year”.
He added, “‘Syndicate’ will mark my third web series which will have around some six to eight episodes”.
“We are yet to finalise the locations where the series will be shot,” he added.
Regarding the plot of ‘Syndicate’, Shihab said the storyline of the series is about a corrupt syndicate where the lead character struggles to free himself from it. In fact, it is about his battle against the syndicate, he said.
Shihab Shaheen earlier directed Chorki’s first original web series ‘Morichika’ starring Afran Nisho, Siam Ahmed, Mahiya Mahi and Jovan, among others. The eight-episode web series garnered appreciation from fans.
Before that, Shihab Shaheen directed another crime-thriller titled ‘August 14’ based on true events. Written and directed by him, the series was released on streaming platform Binge in 2020.
He also directed the ZEE5’s web film ‘Jodi Kintu Tobuo’ starring actors Ziaul Faruq Apurba and Nusraat Faria in the lead roles. The romantic comedy was released on the streaming platform in April this year.
Shihab Shaheen made his directorial debut on the big screen with the film ‘Chuye Dile Mon’ starring Arifin Shuvoo and Zakia Bari Mamo, among others.
