Bobby onboard for true event-inspired ‘Moyurpankhi’

Dhallywood actress Eamin Haque Bobby has been roped in for director Rashid Polash’s upcoming film ‘Moyurpankhi’, which is said to be inspired by the foiled hijack attempt of a Biman aircraft with the same name in 2019.

Bobby signed her contract for the film recently. She made the disclosure sharing several photos on her verified Facebook page on Sunday night. In the photos, she was seen along with director Polash and also signing her contract for the project. “Mayurpongkhi .. new film # new journey,” she captioned.

The title of the film has made waves on social media since it was revealed by its makers recently.

Talking to The Business Post on Tuesday, director Polash said, “She (Bobby) has been signed for the film a few days ago. The story of the film demands her and that’s why we have brought her onboard for the film”.

“We are yet to finalise other cast or the male protagonist. Currently I’m busy with my other film ‘Pritilata’. We are scheduled to resume its shooting shortly. After that, we will go for shooting the film ‘Moyurpankhi’,” he added.

Regarding the story of ‘Moyurpankhi’, Polash said, “It will be a love story, but based on a true event in our country. I don’t want to disclose anything more than that about the film at this moment”.

“We just want to keep some mystery for now,” the ‘Poddapuran’ famed director said further.

On February 24 in 2019, Biman’s Dubai-bound ‘Moyurpankhi’ carrying 142 passengers came under a hijacking attempt by an armed passenger mid-air on way from Dhaka to Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram.

The hijacking bid was foiled and the suspect was killed in a commando operation carried out by a joint team of para-commando wing at the Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram.

All the passengers and crewmembers of the flight were evacuated safely from the aircraft ‘Mouyrpankhi’.

As for actress Bobby, the actress was not seen resuming any shooting in a while following the removal of nationwide Covid-19 lockdown.

Having overcome the virus shock after being infected with it, she is now gearing up to return to the sets. She last shoot for ‘Akbar: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka’ co-starring actor Mamnun Emon.

In 2019, Bobby was seen in romantic-comedy film ‘Nolok’ co-starring superstar Shakib Khan which was released under the banner of Be Happy Entertainment.
