Actress Azmeri Haque Badhon continues making her fans proud in more unique and stronger ways since her film ‘Rehana Maryam Noor’ was screened at the prestigious ‘Un Certain Regard’ sidebar at this year’s Cannes and earned a standing ovation there.
Badhon, who is currently in Delhi to shoot her first schedule of the film ‘Khufiya’, celebrated her birthday Thursday with the cast and crew of the film directed by acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj.
In the early hours of the day, Badhon share a video on social media where she was seen cutting a cake in presence of the ‘Khufiya’ team including director Vishal. She also shared a few photos with the team celebrating the occasion. In a photo posted on her Instagram, Badhon was seen with actress Wamiqa Gabbi, one of her co-stars in the upcoming espionage thriller.
Other casts of the film like Tabu and Ali Fazal, however, were not seen around them in the video.
On Badhon’s birthday, fans, friends and many of the country’s showbiz showered her with love and heartwarming wishes.
“A talented artist that everyone in Bangladesh can be proud of. Enlighten us more… Happy birthday, Azmeri Haque,” wrote ‘Unoponchash Batash’ famed actress Sharlin Farzana in a Facebook post.
“Many will learn by looking at you that any time is perfect to make life beautiful,” added Sharlin.
‘Aynabaji’ actress Masuma Rahman Nabila shared a candid selfie with Badhon and captioned it, “Happy Birthday Azmeri Haque. Fly High”.
TV and film actress Shabnam Faria claimed that Badhon has always been a saviour for her in real life with whom she shared many of her troubles. “I feel so proud when you’re praised by everyone! You’re an inspiration for every woman. Keep making us proud,” Faria captioned a photo with Badhon.
TV and film director Chayanika Chowdhury shared a throwback post to wish Badhon on the day.
Production house Jaaz Multimedia shared a photo of Badhon on their verified Facebook page.
Badhon went to Delhi on October 10 and started shooting for ‘Khufiya’ from the next day.
Along with Badhon, ‘Khufiya’ has Tabu, Ali Fazal, Ashish Vidyarthi and Wamiqa Gabbi in various roles. It will mark Badhon’s debut in Bollywood as well as in steaming giant Netflix.
On September 26, a 2:05-minute teaser was released by the streaming platform on September 26.
‘Khufiya’ is an adaptation of the popular espionage novel ‘Escape to Nowhere’ by Amar Bhushan of India, both directed and produced by Vishal Bhardwaj under the banner of his Vishal Bhardwaj Films.
Badhon earlier shared with The Business Post that working in Bollywood has been a whole new experience for her and she was enjoying it. “I am feeling a difference working here. The way Vishal Bhardwaj’s team is organised, respect to actors, maintenance—all are done in very professional ways. It’s a whole new experience for me. I am enjoying it,” said the actress.
The film ‘Rehana Maryam Noor’ featuring her in the lead role, was sent to the Oscars as Bangladesh’s official entry and is now heading for a theatrical release in November.
