Popular family-oriented drama serial ‘Family Crisis’ directed by Mostafa Kamal Raz is back with its second season with a new story.
Director Raz announced the news on his Facebook account recently.
The shooting of the drama will begin in the first week of December, Raz confirmed The Business post Thursday.
“As ‘Family Crisis’ got immense popularity among the audience, I wanted to make its second season. I won’t reveal the story of the upcoming season at this moment, but I think the audience will love it like they loved our first season,” he said.
Many characters of the drama including Shefali Khala (Munira Mithu), Salma Bhabi (Runa Khan), Raihan (Shamim Hasan Sarkar), Jhumur (Sarika Sabah) became popular for their portrayal in ‘Family Crisis’.
Raz declined to reveal who will be in those characters this time. “We have kept 90 per cent of the cast as they were before. But I do not want to reveal the casting for now, “he said.
The director ended the popular drama serial ‘Family Crisis’ at its 182nd episode which aired on NTV for 21 consecutive months.
The story of the ‘Family Crisis’ revolves around a middle-class joint family who always stick together in good and bad times. As the story goes forward, the serial unravels various sides of the family and how they struggle financially but still stick around together. The first season ended with the illness of ‘Shefali Khala’ played by Munira Mithu, which broke the heart of the fans.
The screenplay of the drama is also written by Mostafa Kamal Raz.
With National Film Award-winning actor Shahiduzzaman Selim in the central role, other cast of the season 1 of ‘Family Crisis’ included Sharmily Ahmed, Rozy Selim, Munira Yousuf Memy, Munira Mithu, Runa Khan, Shabna Faria, Shamim Hasan Sarkar, Mithila, Sanjana Sarkar Riya, Sarika Sabah and child artiste Raisa among others.
