Artistes protest against communal violence

A group of artistes, theatre personalities, TV actors, and singers on Saturday took to the streets in the capital to raise their voice against the recent communal attacks in various parts of the country.

They gathered with the slogan “Oitijjo O Krishtir Deshe, Thaki Sobai Milemishe” in the capital’s Manik Mia Avenue at 10am.

The protest was organised by the Federation of Television Professionals Organisation (FTPO).

Mamunur Rashid, Tariq Anam Khan, Tareen Jahan, Iresh Zaker, Ahsan Habib Nasim, Shomi Kaiser, Meer Sabbir, Deepa Khandaker, Gazi Rakayet, Salahuddin Lavlu, Chayanika Chowdhury, Shihab Shaheen, Pijush Bandopadhyay, Azad Abul Kalam, and many others joined the protest.

The protesters condemned the recent incidents of communal violence and called for the restoration of communal harmony in the country.
