Actress Zakia Bari Mamo has shared the first look from her upcoming war film ‘Ora 7 Jon’ directed by filmmaker-actor Khijir Hayat Khan. In the story, she will be appearing as a doctor who serves the wounded freedom fighters during the Liberation War.

“Mamo is playing an important role in ‘Ora 7 Jon’. Her character’s name is Aparna Sen. She will play the character of a doctor. She is also a freedom fighter in the film,” director Khijir told The Business Post on Monday.

The team is now shooting in the Jaintapur area of Sylhet which was under Sector 5 during the 1971 Liberation War of Bangladesh.

Khijiir said, “We are going to wrap up the shooting of the film on November 7 if everything goes according to plan. We have plans to complete our 40-days shooting schedule and finish the filming of ‘Ora 7 Jon’.”

The story revolves around a squad of seven freedom fighters, aged between 22 and 40 years, and their dedication to the battlefield during the war against then West Pakistan.

Khijir said, “A group of seven freedom fighters known as the ‘Nishachar Bahini’ set off on a delicate mission, and things get intense when a two-day operation turns into a seven-day mission.”

The director on Sunday shared first-look photos of the cast on Facebook.

According to the director, actor Imtiaz Barshon will also play an essential character ‘Ora 7 Jon’ where he will appear as a muezzin-turned-freedom fighter.

Saif Khan, Hamidur Rahman, Nafis Ahmed, Joy Raj, Shahriar Ferdous Sazeeb, Shiba Shanu, Tasnim Tasfi and Khalid Mahbub Turjo will also play the role of freedom fighters in the film.

Khijir Hayat Khan has previously directed three feature films. His debut film, ‘Astittey Amar Desh,’ was released on March 26, 2007, and was based on the life of one of the greatest gallantry heroes, Flight Lt Bir Shreshtho Matiur Rahman. His second film is ‘Jaago,’ which was Bangladesh’s first sports film and was released on December 16, 2010. ‘Mr Bangladesh’ is his third feature film.
