Vidya teams up with Ileana D’Cruz for new film

Vidya Balan has started shooting for her next yet-to-be-titled film. She will be seen sharing screen space with ‘Scam 1992’ star Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy.

Touted as a charming drama-comedy about modern relationships, the film will be directed by ad filmmaker Shirsha Guha Thakurta, reports India Today.

Vidya Balan received much acclaim for her performance in Sherni. Now, the actress will be seen next in a comedy drama directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta. The film also stars Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy. Sendhil is known for the Netflix show Never Have I Ever.

The actor took to social media to announce the news. She shared a photo of all the four actors and wrote that they have started shooting for the film, which is currently being shot in Mumbai and Ooty.

Vidya is playing the role of Kavya in the film. She wrote, “Stoked about my next an untitled charming drama-comedy about modern relationships, which promises to be either your story or the story of your friend. It will make you laugh and cry in equal measure and I’m enjoying playing Kavya to the hilt.”

Director Shirsha Guha Thakurta said, “When I first heard this story, I was instantly attracted to its universe- honest, funny and so today. The actors have been a dream to work with. Their generosity is something I will always cherish.”
