‘Payer Tolay Mati Nai’ selected for IFFI

Bangladeshi film, ‘Payer Tolay Mati Nai’ (No ground beneath the feet) directed by Mohammad Rabby Mridha was selected in the international competition section of the 52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

‘Payer Tolay Mati Nai’ is among the 15 films to be featured in the festival starting from on November 20 and continue until November 28 in India’s Goa.

The international competition section is one of the most important sections of the festival that features some of the best films of the year.

The story of the ‘Payer Tolay Mati Nai’ revolves around a microbus driver who carries dead bodies and patients. His struggles and yearnings to return to his home town to his family have been exhibited in the film.

The film stars Mostafa Monwar, Priyam Archi, Deepanwita Martin and others.

The film was also selected in the 26th Busan international Film Festival in October, under its ‘A Window on the Asian Cinema’ category.

The other films that will be participating in the 52nd IFFI were include ‘Any Day Now’ from Finland, ‘Charlotte’ from Paraguay, ‘Godavari’ from India, ‘Intregalde’ from Romania, ‘Land of Dreams’ from USA, ‘Leader’ from Poland , ‘Me Vasantrao’ from India, ‘Moscow Does Not Happen’ from Russia, ‘Once We Were Good For You’ from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina , ‘Ring Wandering’ from Japan, ‘Saving One Who Was Dead’ from Czech Republic, ‘Semkhor’ from India, ‘The Dorm’ from Russia and ‘The First Fallen’ from Brazil.

Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF), in collaboration with the state government of Goa and the Indian film industry will jointly organise the festival.

IFFI is recognised by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). Annually, the festival celebrates some of the finest cinematic works and showcases a bouquet of the best films from India and around the world.
