Chorki to pay tribute to Soumitra with ‘72 Hours’

The streaming platform ‘Chorki’ has released the first look of the film ’72 Hours’ directed by Atanu Ghosh starring late actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay on their official Facebook page on Sunday.

Chorki has released the poster to pay tribute to the legend actor on his 1st death anniversary and wrote, “On the first death anniversary of renowned actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay, Chorki remembers him with respect and releasing the original film ‘72 Hours’ directed by noted director Atanu Ghosh which is coming on November 25, worldwide.”

Several incidents occurred after the suicide of a standup comedian. Six such incidents that took place in different places within 72 hours have been tied together in this film.

Apart from Soumitra Chattopadhyay, the film also stars Abir Chattopadhyay, Ritwik Chakraborty, Indrani Haldar, Ananya Chattopadhyay, Sudipta, Paran Bandyopadhyay and Kharaj Mukherjee.

This film marks the first production of Story Line Movies and Chorki. Through this, Chorki welcomes Indian Bengali content in an attempt to release new films every month.

The original film ‘72 Hours’ will be available on Chorki’s app and website as premium content. Viewers can watch the film by purchasing a monthly, six-month and 12-month subscription package.

Soumitra Chattopadhyay has made a significant contribution to Indian film and Bengali literature. He made the audience fall in love with the art form with his acting prowess.

Every time Soumitra Chattopadhyay appeared on screen, from Satyajit Ray’s ‘Apur Sansar’ to ‘Joy Baba Felunath,’ moviegoers have seen him at his finest.

He breathed his last on November 15 at Bellevue Nursing Home in Kolkata after being tested positive for the coronavirus.
