Nirab, Bubly reunite in ‘Koyla’

Actor Nirab Hossain has again joined hands with Shabnam Bubly for director Saif Chandan’s upcoming film ‘Koyla’. Shooting of the film is underway in a remote area of Sylhet.

Nirab co-starred Bubly for the first time in director Saikat Nasir’s thriller ‘Casino’ which is yet to be released. His second film with the same actress titled ‘Chokh’ was released in October.

Nirab shared a set of photos with Bubly from their latest photoshoot on his Facebook handle on Tuesday. “Bubly is very cooperative and also very professional which would create more working space,” he told The Business Post Wednesday while sharing about his teamwork with the actress.

Talking about his working experience under Saif Chandan’s direction, he said, “’Koyla’ is my third film directed by Chandan. We earlier collaborated on a film titled ‘Target’ which is yet to be released. We share a very good bonding and did together ‘Target’ and also ‘Abbas’. Moreover, we passed a long time together beyond the film works. Chandan worked as a journalist many years ago. He even then interviewed me once which was the first-ever printed interview of mine. Afterwards, our understanding became stronger surpassing the journalist-artiste relation when we started teaming up for film work”.

Nirab is currently in Sylhet shooting for ‘Koyla’. He informed that the film will also be shot in Tangail and Dhaka afterwards.

Regarding casting Nirab in ‘Koyla’, Saif Chandan said, “The story of ‘Koyla’ is about a less-inhabited remote forest area. In fact, I was looking for an actor who can match the role, endures the hard work and also feels comfortable doing the project. Nirab is a tested artiste and also worked under my direction in the past.”

“Bubly is a popular heroine in the industry who has several commercially successful films co-starring Shakib Khan. I found her a perfect match for the role in ‘Koyla’ and that’s why I offered her,” added the director.

Chandan informed The Business Post that he started shooting ‘Koyla’ from November 12 in Sylhet without making any disclosure and almost 50 per cent of the filming has already been done.

‘Koyla’ was announced by its makers in 2019 which faced delay for to Covid-19 situation.

The story and dialogue of ‘Koyla’ are written by Abdullah Zahir Babu while its screenplay is done by director Chandan. The film is being produced under the banner of Simplex International Production.

Nirab will be seen in ‘Chhaya Brikkho’ directed by Bandhan Biswas and government-financed film ‘Phire Dekha’ directed by actress Rozina while Bubly has ‘Leader: Amii Bangladesh’ and ‘Revenge’ lined up for release.

Saif Chandan, famed for directing the 2015 action-romantic film ‘Chheleti Abol Tabol Meyeti Pagol Pagol’, is currently awaiting the release of his two films ‘Ostad’ and ‘Poster’.
