Sony’s supernatural comedy sequel ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ is set to release at all four branches of the Star Cineplex today. The film will be releasing worldwide the same day.
Jason Reitman directed ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife,’ succeeding his father Ivan Reitman, who directed the original ‘Ghostbusters’ film in 1984. The first film, starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis as parapsychologists who catch ghosts, was a critical and economic success and spawning sequels, animated shows, computer games, and an ill-fated 2016 revival.
The sequel of the film continues up 30 years after the first and follows a family who moves to a tiny town and finds their link to the famed ghost-catching enterprise.
Murray, Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts reprise their roles from the previous movie, while Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd have joined the cast.
This sequel gives fans a look at some of the iconic Ghostbusters monsters returning to stalk the franchise’s new heroes, including a revamped Slimer and additional video of Paul Rudd’s Chad Grooberson’s little Stay Puft marshmallow guys.
