Nipun signs up for ‘Monolok’

Dhallywood actress Nipun is collaborating with director Shahid Rayhan for his upcoming film ‘Monolok’ ending her hiatus from the silver screen for nearly three years.

She will be seen along with actor Fazlur Rahman Babu in the psychological political drama.

The launching ceremony of the film was held at Lamda Hall of Gulshan Club in the capital on Wednesday.

Theatre personality and politician Asaduzzaman Noor attended the event as the chief guest. TV director Salahuddin Lavlu present was among others at the ceremony.

The storyline of ‘Monolok’ is about the psychological analysis of political personalities. It revolves around the birth of Bangladesh through the 1971 Liberation War, the post-war political figures and their visions and ideologies.

The film will also depict the role of political personalities in determining enemies and allies of the nation, according to Shahid Raihan, director of the film.

Nipun has taken Tk 1 as the remuneration of the film to honour the character she is playing. However, she did not reveal the details about her character yet.

Nipun was last seen in a romantic film titled ‘Dhushor Kuasha’ directed by Uttom Akash which was released in 2018. Makers of ‘Monolok’ are scheduled to start shooting for the film from Monday at ‘Nine and Half’ shooting house in Dhaka.

Produced by Hafiz Alam Bakhsh, the film also features television actress Deepa Khandakar and theatre artiste Jayita Mahalanobish, along with actors Samu Chowdhury, MA Bari, AK Azad Setu, Niaz Tarek, Masud Mohiuddin, Ashraful Ashish, and Aryan, among others.
